Our story began in the late 1950’s when Ernie Strack and Nick Van Til owned separate Northwest Indiana grocery stores. Drawn together by a common ambition to create a more exciting shopping experience for customers, they joined forces in 1959 to create Strack & Van Til. Today, we serve our customers at more than 20 Northwest Indiana grocery locations and our growth and success remain rooted in the philosophy and principles of our founders: delivering everyday value, exceptional customer service and satisfaction, and an outstanding shopping experience.
