The Production Associate is responsible for assembling electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and interpreting technical drawings. They also handle quality inspections, packaging finished products, and processing shipments within the ERP system.

Candidates should have experience in assembly or picking and packing, with the ability to lift up to 50lbs. Proficiency in reading schematics and basic computer literacy, specifically with ERP software like Epicor, is an asset.

Join us in Advancing the Environmental Global Impact within the Rail Industry

For nearly 40 years, ZTR has designed, developed and released products that have a positive environmental impact within the Rail Industry. Planning for an environmentally sustainable future means taking action today in preparation for tomorrow. Everyone has a role to play and we take ours seriously.

This role is a full-time (40 hours per week) & contract position with hours of work being 7AM to 3:30PM, Monday - Friday, and is a 12 month contract.

As the Production Associate, you will:

  • Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders and instructions to perform required assembly tasks
  • Use hand tools such as crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cement, press fits, or similar hand tools to assemble electrical and electronic systems or support structures
  • Adjust or repair assemblies to meet the quality standards
  • Inspect and test wire harness assemblies as required
  • Visually inspect products for any defects and report problems to mitigate quality issues
  • Pack finished products for inventory or customer orders as directed
  • Package, identify and put away material from manufacturing into finished goods Inventory
  • Pulls products from stock or from manufacturing and properly labels and packs products based on customer orders
  • Processes the shipment in the ERP system, entering quantities, serialization, weights and dimensions.
  • Counting inventory and kitting jobs for the production floor
  • Other manufacturing operations and order fulfillment related tasks as assigned Follows good manufacturing and safe work practices


Who are you?

  • Previous hands-on assembly and/ or picking packing experience is an asset
  • Ability to interpret schematics or blueprints an asset
  • Strong manual dexterity with the ability to pay attention to detail
  • Great attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of work safe practices and procedures
  • Organized and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer literacy
  • ERP experience is an asset (Epicor)
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

The expected hourly wage for this position is $20/hour CDN.


The hourly rate is determined through comprehensive market research and considers factors including qualifications, skills, education, relevant experience, work location, internal equity, and alignment with local and industry market data. Permanent Full time employees may also be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including Employer RRSP matching. The hourly rate listed in job posting are subject to change.
