YTI operates a state-of-the-art marine container terminal in the Port of Los Angeles. YTI was established in 1991 at the Port’s Berths 212-218. The services we provide are stevedoring and terminal operations for Premier Alliance (ONE, HMM and Yang Ming lines) as well as slot chartering from Evergreen, CMA-CGM, APL, COSCO and OOCL. We also have independent vessel operators Cool Carrier and Hapag Lloyd. As a full-service marine terminal, YTI provides modern technology, equipment, on-dock rail, storage facilities and Alternative Maritime Power (AMP®). Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) – Benefits & HR Systems

Position Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) – Benefits & HR Systems serves as the organization's subject matter expert for HR technology, benefits administration, HR analytics, and employee lifecycle processes. This role partners with business leaders and employees to ensure efficient, compliant, and employee-focused HR operations while optimizing HR systems and benefit programs.
The HRBP is responsible for the administration and continuous improvement of HRIS platforms, benefits programs, employee data management, reporting, compliance initiatives, and process automation. The position plays a critical role in leveraging technology and data to enhance the employee experience, improve operational efficiency, and support organizational objectives.
Essential Functions
HR Systems & Technology
- Serve as primary administrator for the organization's HRIS, applicant tracking system (ATS), performance management system, and related HR technologies.
- Manage system configuration, workflows, security roles, integrations, testing, and upgrades.
- Partner with Payroll, IT, and vendors to ensure data integrity across systems.
- Lead implementation of new HR technology solutions and process improvements (i.e. digitalization of HR database, away from paper driven HR process)
- Develop dashboards, metrics, and reports to support workforce planning and business decisions.
- Create and maintain HR system documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
- Troubleshoot HRIS issues and act as liaison with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual HR processes and improve operational efficiency.
Benefits Administration
- Administer company-sponsored health and welfare benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, FSA/HSA, retirement plans, and voluntary benefits. Solid vendor management skillsets required.
- Manage annual Open Enrollment planning and execution.
- Coordinate benefit eligibility, enrollments, changes, terminations, and employee communications.
- Serve as primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and issue resolution.
- Reconcile carrier invoices and audit benefit data for accuracy.
- Partner with brokers and vendors to evaluate benefit offerings, utilization trends, and cost-containment opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA/Cal-COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, Section 125 regulations, and other applicable federal and state requirements.
- Prepare required notices, reporting, and annual benefits communications.
HR Analytics & Compliance
- Develop and maintain key HR metrics related to turnover, retention, benefits participation, workforce demographics, recruitment, and employee engagement which are subject to future integration into company’s BI and ERP system
- Conduct regular audits of employee records and HR systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Support internal and external audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate electronic personnel records and HR documentation.
- Prepare reports for leadership regarding workforce trends and organizational metrics.
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Support onboarding, offboarding, transfers, promotions, and other employee changes within HR systems.
- Ensure data accuracy throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Partner with managers to improve HR processes and employee experience.
- Assist with policy administration and employee communications.
- Support compensation and performance management processes through system administration and reporting.
Strategic Partnership
- Collaborate with business leaders of all departments to identify and implement HR operational improvements.
- Analyze workforce and benefits data to support strategic decision-making.
- Recommend technology and process enhancements that improve service delivery and employee experience.
- Lead special projects related to HR transformation, compliance, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
Experience
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Minimum 3 years of HRIS administration experience.
- Significant experience administering employee benefits programs.
- Experience with HR reporting, analytics, and compliance management.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred.
- Multi-state California employment experience preferred.

$110,000-$130,000/year + Bonus
