Develop and implement family-centered evaluations and therapy routines for children in the Early Support Services program. Coordinate specialized instructor services in natural environments and maintain detailed records in the ESIT data management system.
Requires a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a valid State of Washington SLP license. Candidates must be registered with ASHA and possess a valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle.

Position Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is an integral part of our Early Support Services team. SLP's are responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive, family-centered -evaluations, assessments and therapy routines for children who are enrolled at Whatcom Center for Early Learning (WCEL) Early Support (formerly called Early Intervention) Services (ES) program. ES staff utilize the Primary Service Provider approach when working with children and their families or caretakers.
Location: works primarily out of any of the three WCEL Whatcom County locations.

As a group, Whatcom Center for Early Learning staff are passionate about our work with children and families within our community. We utilize a research based service delivery model that is referred to as the "Primary Service Provider" (PSP) approach. The PSP model assigns a single WCEL specialist as the primary service provider (PSP) to the child based on family priorities and the child's developmental needs. Our team of PSPs is composed of speech language pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, and early education specialists. They offer support with feeding, motor and speech development, and behavior strategies to assist with daily challenges and developmental growth. Each family is also assigned a Family Resources Coordinator to support coordination and planning, and assisting the family to access resources as needed. Additionally, the PSP receives input and support from the entire WCEL team, and joint consultation with a PSP of another discipline is available as needed.
