JOB SUMMARY The Adult Education Compliance Specialist will provide technical support to, and work collaboratively with, the Adult Education Program (AEP) which includes the Houston Literacy Consortium (HLC) comprised of a number of community based sub-contractors.
The Adult Education Compliance Specialist will take the lead as the technical assistant in monitoring the ongoing integrity of data collection, data review, data entry, data analysis, and data archival for the HLC.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Coordinate and maintain all continuing data operations related to ensure proper compliance with the Texas Education Agency grant requirements.
Oversee and implement compliance with the US Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE) National Reporting System (NRS) requirements and Houston Community College Policy and Procedures relative to Adult Education Programs.
Develop an annual timeline for data operations and deadlines.
Process all new course additions, special projects, local need forms and/or course changes and revisions received from HLC sub-contractors.
Conduct data sampling to ensure consistency between paper and electronic records.
Collaborate with the Program Director/Support Services (Data Management) on the creation of professional development training for AEP and HLC staff regarding State and Federal compliance processes and record keeping.
Manage the augmentation and editing of existing data sources and verifies database content is updated and streamlined to ensure optimal use.
Performs other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience
Associate’s degree is required
Sixty (60) hours toward degree completion plus five (5) years directly-related experience, preferably in Adult Education Programs or Systems may be substituted for degree requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education or related field preferred
3 years’ experience in working with Adult Education or related field required
