The Senior Counsel will serve as a strategic legal partner for Enterprise Data and Media business units, managing complex data and software licensing agreements. They will also provide guidance on data commercialization, privacy initiatives, and vendor partnerships while overseeing outside counsel.
Candidates must have a Juris Doctor degree and at least 8 years of legal experience, with a minimum of 5 years in-house. Extensive knowledge of the technology industry, B2B engagements, and data licensing is required, along with active licensure to practice law in the USA.

The Senior Counsel – Data & Media will serve as a strategic legal partner to The Weather Company’s Enterprise Data and Media business units, reporting directly to the Deputy General Counsel. This role involves managing a broad spectrum of legal matters, with a primary focus on drafting and negotiating complex data and software licensing agreements, supporting data commercialization strategies, and guiding data privacy and governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess over 8 years of legal experience, including at least 5 years in-house, with substantial expertise in the technology industry, B2B engagements, and product development, enabling them to effectively navigate the company's legal needs and commercial objectives in a hybrid, Atlanta-based environment.
Base Salary: $210,000 - $235,000
The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region of work premises, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
