This part-time opportunity includes a range of responsibilities that directly contribute to the hospital's efficient and effective daily operations. Your primary responsibility is to ensure our clients and their pets feel welcomed, expertly cared for, and appreciated!
Assist veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patients and pet parents
Respond to and manage email correspondence: clients, referring veterinarians & internal office messages
Placing outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings
Invoicing/billing; creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation, and processing payments
Admitting and discharging pet patients
General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas
Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Office Assistant (VOA) program certificate is an asset
Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively
Previous customer service or front desk experience in hospitality or retail is an asset!; a real aptitude for putting people at ease and creating a welcoming environment
Takes initiative to complete tasks throughout the day
Compassion and nurturing attitude
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to adapt to changing situations
Efficient in carrying out assignments independently
Willingness to learn more regarding; veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
