About Us:

Vault 44.01 (“Vault”) is a leading carbon capture & storage (“CCS”) developer focused on the development, capitalization, and operation of carbon storage assets throughout North America. Vault’s team brings over 90 years of direct carbon storage experience, with involvement in the development of carbon storage projects across North America since 2007.

Vault’s capabilities span technical analysis, project design, permitting, stakeholder engagement, land leasing and acquisition, facility construction, and operations. In collaboration with our industrial partners, we are currently developing CCS projects in the US Midwest, US Southeast, and Canada, focusing on single CO2 source, near-site sequestration projects and including 7 projects currently under contract.

Vault has secured a US$300 million equity capital commitment from Grey Rock Investment Partners (Dallas, TX based private equity company) and has offices in Denver, CO and Calgary, AB.

Summary:

  • Start Date: Mid July 2026
  • Location: Calgary, AB
  • Employee Type: Part Time, Contract 12 months - Maternity Leave Coverage
  • Travel Required: Limited

Opportunity:

Vault is seeking an experienced, proactive, and people-focused Human Resources Generalist to join our team on a temporary 12-month contract. This hands-on role is ideal for a well-rounded HR professional who enjoys both strategic people initiatives and day-to-day HR operations. The successful candidate will support recruitment, employee engagement, pulse surveys, HR reporting, performance evaluation processes, HRIS administration, employee data management, and full-cycle payroll processing. This opportunity is well-suited for someone with sound judgment, strong communication skills, a high level of discretion, and the ability to build trusted relationships with employees, managers, and leadership. The role is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented individual who can step in quickly, take initiative, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and support a positive, productive, and engaged workplace culture throughout the contract term.

Vault supports a flexible hybrid work environment with a mix of in-person collaboration and remote work. Emphasis is placed on producing high-quality work and meeting deadlines, not necessarily where or when hours are worked.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, reference checks, and offer support to the job owner.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, role requirements, and recruitment priorities.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with employees and managers to support engagement, morale, communication, and workplace culture.
  • Act as a trusted HR contact for employees, providing guidance and support on HR-related questions and concerns.
  • Support leadership and managers in creating action plans based on employee feedback.
  • Use BambooHR to support onboarding, offboarding, time-off tracking, employee changes, reporting, and performance management processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all employee, payroll, and HR records.
  • Complete and submit payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Assist the Executive Assistant with team event planning.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a senior HR generalist, HR manager, or people operations role.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment, employee engagement, HR operations, payroll, reporting, and performance management.
  • Experience working with Mercer for benchmarking.
  • Oil and gas experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret HR data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Understanding of payroll legislation, employment standards, statutory deductions, taxable benefits, vacation pay, overtime, and payroll remittances.
  • Experience using BambooHR or a similar HRIS platform.
  • Experience working in a small to mid-sized organization is an asset, particularly in a hands-on HR role.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented, and deadline-driven with the ability to work well independently
  • Excellent work ethic, with the ability to multitask and manage competing and changing priorities while maintaining a high standard of work
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable working independently.
  • Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Vault is an equal opportunity employer, diversity and inclusion are important to us. We are committed to providing employment opportunities to all qualified individuals. Final candidates for this position may be required to undergo a security screening, including a criminal records check.

Only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted.
