Full job description

Job Description:

The Senior Manager of Postsecondary Partnerships will advance UP Partnership’s Future Ready Bexar County plan by leading cross-sector collaboration with Independent School Districts (ISDs), Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs), and youth development organizations. This role drives systemic strategies that expand equitable access to postsecondary education and career pathways, with a focus on high school pathways, early college high school programs, and dual credit outreach.

The Senior Manager ensures alignment with the Future Ready North Star goal (70% postsecondary attainment by 2030) and key access Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Success in this role requires a blend of strategic partnership building, project management, data-informed decision making, and results-based facilitation.

This is not a direct service position; instead, it is a systems-change role supporting partners to build capacity, spread best practices, and align resources for scale.

Responsibilities Include:

Partnership Building

  • Build, strengthen, and sustain partnerships with ISDs, IHEs, and community-based organizations to expand postsecondary and career pathways.

  • Convene and facilitate networks of counselors and advisors to share best practices and align advising systems.

  • Represent UP Partnership in regional and state-level coalitions focused on college access.

Strategic Advancement & Project Management

  • Lead initiatives tied to the Access Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring strategies are implemented, measured, and continuously improved.

  • Manage multi-stakeholder projects from design to execution, including facilitation, milestone tracking, and accountability reporting.

  • Partner with the Director to design and implement learning agendas and professional development for collaboratives.

  • Leverage data and research to inform strategy, identify barriers, and recommend continuous improvement actions.

Coaching & Facilitation

  • Provide coaching, technical assistance, and capacity building for ISD and IHE partners engaged in advising, pathway expansion, and career-connected learning.

  • Facilitate cross-sector convenings using Results-Based Facilitation (RBF) and other equity-centered approaches to move partners toward shared outcomes.

Operations & Sustainability

  • Track and report progress on grant milestones, KPIs, and deliverables in partnership with the Senior Manager for Development & Grants.

  • Support communications with storytelling and data that elevate successes in college and career pathways.

  • Contribute to budget forecasting and tracking relevant initiatives.

  • Maintain internal systems for project management, partner engagement, and reporting.

  • Positively contribute to organizational culture and model UP Partnership’s core values of equity, collaboration, and results.

  • Lead and/or support other organizational initiatives as needed.

Most Critical Competencies:

  • Postsecondary & K-12 Knowledge: Deep understanding of dual credit, early college high schools, college advising, and systemic barriers facing students.

  • Cross-Sector Partnership Development: Proven ability to build trust, engage diverse stakeholders, and align partners across education, workforce, and community sectors.

  • Project Management & Execution: Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-partner projects with clarity, accountability, and measurable outcomes.

  • Facilitation & Coaching: Skilled in results-based facilitation, convening diverse groups, and providing coaching/technical assistance to drive systems change.

  • Data-Informed Strategy: Comfort with using data and research to guide decisions, evaluate impact, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Equity & Cultural Competence: Commitment to advancing equity in postsecondary access and success.

  • Adaptive Leadership: Strong ability to lead through change, navigate complexity, and balance short-term wins with long-term systems impact.

Position Details:

  • Classification: Full-time, regular, hybrid-eligible position.

  • Compensation: The annual salary range for this role is $70,000 - $78,000, or $80,000 - $85,000 with an active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Final placement within the applicable range is dependent upon experience and is subject to management discretion.

  • Benefits: This position is fully eligible for the organization's standard health, ancillary, and wellness benefits package.
