Acts as the primary point of contact for physicians and staff while managing phone coverage and clinical documentation. Responsible for data entry, verifying charges, and maintaining accurate records within the center's software systems.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of healthcare experience or two years of customer service experience. Must possess strong organizational skills and proficiency in basic computer software.
UnaSource Surgery Center of Troy is hiring a fulltime Patient Communication Coordinator to join our growing Team.
The Patient Communication Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for physicians and staff within the operating room/surgical center department. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to details, professionalism, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced surgical environment. Works in conjunction with providers and clinical staff to take care of Center’s needs.
PREREQUISITE EXPERIENCE: One year of experience in a healthcare environment or a minimum of two years’ experience in a customer service focused role. Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Graduate or GED equivalent.

Documentation
3. Maintains accurate data in the Center’s software programs by regularly updating information as needed (supplies, costs, procedures).
4. Periodically audits work.
5. Communicates with leadership, nursing staff, and materials management regarding questions on charges, items used or documentation.
6. Prepare documentation of implants and invoices for billing and coding.
