By joining the Communications Business within Ultra I&C, your unique talents will be pivotal in shaping global communication for our dedicated warfighters. Your contributions will create cutting-edge solutions that enable precise, timely, and secure exchange of voice, video, and data communications for military applications. These advancements leverage high-capacity tactical radio, advanced waveforms, and state-of-the-art satellite communications technology. 

This role can be based at our sites in Tring or Burridge - flexible hybrid working options available.

Our Opportunity:

As the Ultra Communications division enters a new phase of growth and transformation (becoming Marconi Technologies), we are seeking a strategic and influential Senior HR Business Partner to shape and deliver the people agenda across our UK operations. Acting as a key member the Global HR Team and UK Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving organisational performance, strengthening our culture, and enabling our teams to thrive.

While this role is focused on the UK, and reports into the Vice President for the UK, it is also a key membership within the broader HR team across Canada, the USA and the UK. As such it will be required to have a view of our work, the teams in all these locations supporting our integration and alignment.

As part of this role, occasional travel between various sites may be required.

Who We Are:

Ultra Communications delivers resilient tactical communications, encryption and AI-enabled solutions that secure, move, and make sense of data across all domains to empower decision and enable autonomy. We give operators the upper hand when it matters most.

We develop and manufacture advanced, dual-use communications systems across the full tactical spectrum, from line-of-sight tactical radios to beyond-line-of-sight troposcatter and satellite communications. We have delivered thousands (and counting) of systems to NATO and allied forces worldwide.

Through our software solutions we provide real-time situational awareness - blending video, radar, audio and cybersecurity inputs into one unified, intuitive platform. It delivers a single operational picture that helps teams assess threats, trigger alerts and make smarter decisions, faster. From safeguarding military bases to securing complex infrastructure, we provide our customers persistent visibility and mission-ready insight - anytime, anywhere.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience operating at HRBP level in complex, technical or multi‑site environments, ideally within defence, engineering or manufacturing.

• CIPD Level 7 or equivalent experience; Chartered CIPD (MCIPD/Chartered MCIPD) desirable and/or coaching qualifications (ILM, EMCC, ICF) are an advantage.

• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law with proven experience managing complex employee relations matters and advising senior leaders.

• Demonstrated ability to shape culture, lead organisational change, and implement performance and development frameworks.

• Excellent communication, coaching and relationship‑building skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

• Experience developing HR policies, leading recruitment and retention strategies, and using HR data to inform decisions.

• Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS or SC clearance.

• Comfortable working across UK sites and internationally, with occasional travel required.
