We are looking for a dedicated and diligent Environmental Field Technician to join the Trinity Consultants Canada team. WONDERING WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

The Environmental Field Technician role will require you to have a keen eye on health and safety while leading field work. The following responsibilities will be in your domain.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading and undertaking field work to support aquatic environmental monitoring, including surface water and ground water sampling, as well as biological monitoring such as sediment, benthic invertebrate and fish and fish habitat monitoring, including baseline monitoring, by collecting high quality environmental data.
  • Managing your crew’s safety, productivity, and quality while working in rugged outdoor conditions, which may include severe hot or cold weather, remote locations, using ATVs for remote site access, and boat operation for sample collection.
  • Adhering to field data collection BMPs and SOPs.
  • Completing data management with adherence to Trinity’s internal QA/QC processes.
  • Engaging in field planning where needed, including safety planning, and field work plan development and execution.
  • Additional office work, if needed, such as data entry.

THE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • A diploma or B.Sc. in Biology, Geochemistry, Environmental Sciences, or a related field, +3 years of field work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Boat Operator’s license and experience in boat operation on lakes
  • Experience driving ATVs in remote and rugged locations
  • Physically capable of working in remote locations for extended periods, with field assignments typically lasting 7 to 10 consecutive days at a time.
  • Surface water and ground water sampling experience are assets.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. and excellence are key attributes.
  • Effective and demonstrated communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, well organized, motivated, and self-managed.
