About the mission we offer you:

 

Two types of designs are offered for floating units: a post-and-beam design and a stress-skin design. For each design, a set of design standards is made available to engineers and drafters to facilitate the design process.

 

The main objective is to examine typical connections and verify the structural design of these connections, namely:

• Column/beam design: re-verify certain standard connections through calculation
• Stress-skin design: begin developing a set of standard connection specifications

 

The study will be conducted for a module sized according to AISC/API codes and subjected to loads generated by various pre-service conditions (lifting and transport) and in-service conditions.

The main activities will be:

• Reviewing the existing design of a dimensioned module
• Finite element modeling of joints
• Manual calculations for certain joints
• Creating sketches and/or markups on existing drawings.

 

Starting Date: October 2026

•  Currently pursuing a master’s degree (Bac +5)
• You have knowledge of beam structural design
• You have a working knowledge of English (spoken and written).
