Responsibilities
The Quantity/Cost Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed project cost estimates, evaluating Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and performing material quantity takeoffs. They also coordinate with designers and project teams to monitor costs and manage adjustments to estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. A minimum of five years of professional experience in preparing project quantity and cost estimates is required.

Context
The Quantity/ Cost Estimator provides estimates of construction material quantities and generates project cost estimates based on industry standard unit rates and costs.
Missions/Main Duties
Checking and evaluation of available BOQ and preparation of Quantity Calculations to confirm the submitted quantities.
Provide comments and correction for the available BOQ
Initiate discussion/meeting with Designers
Attend Coordination meeting with Client
Gather material and construction work unit rates, overhead costs and profit rates and perform detailed project cost estimates using these together with the arrived material quantity takeoffs;
Provide cost estimate reports and attend clarification meetings with the project team.
Confer with the project team, contractors and subcontractors on changes on adjustments to quantity and cost estimates;
Conducts review of existing information on material and labor requirements, clarifies project priorities, and escalates issues that cannot be resolved within one’s level;
Supports project quality control by initiating cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.

Profile/Skills
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in preparing project quantity and costs estimates.
