Position Summary:
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable part-time Van Driver for our ten-passenger van to transport students from Stratford Crestmoor Canyon (2322 Crestmoor Drive) in San Bruno to Stratford Middle School in San Francisco (75 Francis Street) and back from the middle school to the elementary school at the end of the day. This daily van transport will take place in the mornings, prior to the start of school, and in the afternoons, after the school day ends at San Francisco Middle School.
Our ideal candidate is punctual, professional, and growth-oriented, someone eager to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives and grow with our school community. Candidates with creative talents and passions in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) and youth mentorship will be given preference, as we aim to enrich students’ after-school experiences through engaging and relevant programming. A clean driving record, defensive driving style, and calm demeanor are required.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Safety
Ensure student safety and well-being by maintaining active supervision by sight and sound at all times.
Practice safe driving and maintain a calm, clean, and respectful commute environment for students.
Complete daily morning van rider log.
Refuel, clean, and maintain the school van as needed or requested.
Monitor student behavior and interactions during lunch and extended day with consistency and fairness using Positive Discipline practices.
Proactively supervise for student safety during transitions, activities, and outdoor play.
Relationship Building & Engagement
Build strong, respectful relationships with students and parents that foster trust and encourage personal responsibility and academic growth.
Actively engage with students to promote a sense of belonging and empowerment during after-school activities.
Serve as a positive role model, upholding the school's values of respect, excellence, always improving, collaboration, and high expectations.
Professionalism & Teamwork
Arrive on time and prepared; maintain professional conduct, dress, and communication at all times.
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and training.
Collaborate with the extended day team and school staff to ensure smooth daily operations and a cohesive student experience.
Take ownership of cleaning, organizing, and maintenance of shared program spaces.
Student Support
Reinforce school-wide expectations and assist in managing student behavior with consistency and positive discipline techniques.
Identify student needs and refer concerns to the appropriate school personnel when necessary.
Treat all students with dignity and respect, showing patience and empathy in all interactions.

Skills, Knowledge, & Education:
Must be 25 years or older
California driver’s license and a clean driving record
High school diploma or GED required; some college or experience in education, youth development, or a STEAM-related field preferred.
Knowledge of Positive Discipline or other student-centered behavioral approaches is highly desirable.
Experience working with middle and/or high school students is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to circulate campus, actively supervise students, and respond quickly in emergencies.
Able to lift up to 30 lbs and work both indoors and outdoors.
Requires stamina to engage physically and verbally with students throughout the afternoon.

Pay Range, based on knowledge and experience: $20.00 to $27.45 per hour
Schedule:
Morning: 7:00 - 9:00 a.m.
After-School: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
