Our purpose is clear; to unite and inspire everyone to love and play cricket. Cricket is so much more than just a game; it brings people together and binds us all through our shared experiences.
This is your opportunity to join a purpose led organisation that truly makes a difference to Australians.
About the role
SACA is seeking a motivated and community-minded person to join our Community Cricket team as a Cricket Officer. This role is central to growing participation across the North Metro region by strengthening connections between clubs, schools, and local communities.
We’re looking for someone who understands how community sport works, someone who values relationships, inclusivity, and creating positive experiences for children and families. While a passion for sport is important, you don’t need to be a cricket expert. What matters most is your ability to engage communities, support volunteers, and help create clear and welcoming pathways into the game.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will deliver and support programs that bring people together, build strong local sporting environments, and contribute to the long-term growth of cricket.
Key responsibilities:
Contribute to participation growth by identifying and supporting opportunities to connect more people with cricket.
Build and maintain strong relationships across clubs, schools, and community networks, acting as a trusted and approachable point of contact.
Support clubs and associations to operate effectively, including guidance on affiliation, child safety, and participation initiatives.
Facilitate club engagement and planning processes, helping volunteers set and achieve meaningful, locally relevant goals.
Coordinate and support delivery of community programs, primarily focused on engaging children aged 5–12, such as Woolworths Cricket Blast, school programs, and holiday programs within the region.
Plan and deliver activities that provide clear and inclusive pathways from introductory programs into club cricket.
Work collaboratively with internal teams and Cricket Australia to share insights, respond to community needs, and enhance program delivery.
Support initiatives that strengthen diversity and inclusion, including the growth of girls’ cricket and engagement with underrepresented communities.
Collaborate with coaching, competition, and facilities teams to support development opportunities and sustainable club environments.
Contribute to broader team priorities aligned with SACA and Cricket Australia’s strategic objectives.
Hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid Working with Children Check.
Would also be great if you have…
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect effectively with a range of people
Good organisation and time management skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise tasks
An understanding of, or experience in, community sport environments (e.g. working with clubs, volunteers, schools, or local groups)
A collaborative and supportive approach to working as part of a team
The ability to contribute to shared goals and outcomes, with a focus on positive participation experiences
Confidence in supporting and encouraging volunteers and casual staff
Sound administrative skills, including experience using databases or CRM systems (or a willingness to learn)
An appreciation for participation sport and creating welcoming, inclusive environments for children and families
A current South Australian Driver’s Licence
If you don’t meet every criteria, but feel this role aligns with your skills and interests, we encourage you to apply.
If you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!
