What You'll Be Working On
The Role will be based in our London office and will report to the 2D/ 3D Designer- UKI under the supervision of the International Senior Visual Merchandising Manager. These duties may be reviewed and modified from time to time based on mutual needs.
The Visual Merchandising Coordinator Designer will support the creative development and execution of projects across the UK & Ireland market. Working across Permanent Visual Merchandising, Store Design, New Product Development (NPD), pop-ups and events, you will help bring the Sol de Janeiro brand to life through engaging retail experiences that align with global brand guidelines and support UKI business objectives.
This is a creative design role with additional project coordination skills required. You will be responsible for developing both 2D and 3D retail design assets while supporting the successful delivery of projects from concept through to installation. Working closely with the UKI Designer and Assistant Visual Merchandising Manager.
As a key member of the UKI Visual Merchandising team, you will partner with cross-functional teams across Sales, Marketing, Commercial and Retail to ensure all visual merchandising executions are aligned with UKI priorities while maintaining a consistent customer experience across every retail touchpoint.
Acting as a guardian of the Sol de Janeiro brand, you will work in close collaboration with the UKI Designer, Senior Marketing Manager and external creative agencies to localise global campaigns for the UK & Ireland market. You will help ensure all creative executions maintain the integrity of the global brand while meeting local market and retailer requirements.
This role is ideal for a proactive, organised and collaborative designer who enjoys balancing creative thinking with project delivery and is passionate about creating best-in-class retail experiences.
Permanent VM & Store Design
• Support the UKI Designer in the creative development and rollout of permanent Visual Merchandising and Store Design initiatives across the UK & Ireland retail estate.
• Create and develop 3D retail concepts, SketchUp models and visualisations for permanent fixtures, store updates and New Product Development (NPD) launches.
• Produce high-quality 2D artwork for POS, communication strips, shelf talkers, window graphics, vinyls and in-store collateral, ensuring all assets align with global brand guidelines.
• Prepare print-ready artwork, technical drawings and production specifications for suppliers and retail partners.
• Develop artwork packs, renders and production files, ensuring all assets are accurate, approved and delivered within project timelines.
• Support the design and development of bespoke local merchandising solutions, retail fixtures and display units for permanent installations and small-to-medium VM activations.
• Coordinate artwork approvals, supplier communications and production schedules in partnership with the Assistant Manager, Visual Merchandising to support successful retail implementation.
• Maintain project trackers, artwork libraries, technical specifications and project documentation to ensure the smooth delivery of VM initiatives.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, balancing creative development with project coordination and administrative responsibilities.
Pop-ups, Events & Temporary VM
• Support the creative development and execution of retail pop-ups, seasonal campaigns, events and temporary Visual Merchandising activations.
• Develop 3D renders, presentation visuals and creative concepts declinations for experiential retail environments.
• Produce artwork for event graphics, branded environments, signage, POS, supporting collateral and adhoc projects.
• Adapt global creative concepts for the UK & Ireland market while maintaining brand consistency across all retail touchpoints.
• Coordinate artwork approvals, supplier communications and production schedules with agencies, printers and fabrication partners.
• Support installation planning and on-site execution where required, ensuring the final environment reflects the approved creative vision.
Must Haves
- Degree in Graphic Design, Retail Design, Interior Design or a related creative discipline.
- 3 years' experience in retail design, graphic design or visual merchandising, ideally within beauty or fashion.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating both 2D graphic design and 3D retail design across permanent VM, store environments, POS, retail activations and experiential projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop).
- Proficient in SketchUp and V-Ray with the ability to create high-quality retail concepts, visualisations and presentation renders.
- Strong understanding of retail design, visual merchandising principles and customer journey.
- Experience producing print-ready artwork, technical drawings and production specifications, with knowledge of print production, materials and colour management.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage artwork revisions, approvals, project documentation and administrative tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Confident collaborating across cross-functional teams while building strong relationships with agencies, suppliers and production partners.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to balance creativity, organisation and project coordination.
- Passionate about creating innovative retail experiences and bringing brands to life through exceptional design.
- Hybrid working model – minimum three days per week in the office.
