About the Role
The BilingualFamily Support Counselor provides family-centered mental health counseling, support, crisis intervention, and care coordination services for youth and their families. As part of a multidisciplinary team, Bilingual Family Support Counselors deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive services in homes, schools, and community settings, helping youth and families build stability, strengthen relationships, and address challenges that may impact their well-being and daily functioning.
About the Program
The San Francisco Wraparound Program partners with the Department of Public Health to support youth and families experiencing significant behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges. Serving youth who are at high risk for hospitalization, school disruption, placement instability, and other adverse life outcomes, the program provides intensive, strengths-based, and individualized services. Through a collaborative team approach, the Wraparound Program works alongside youth, families, and community supports to build on existing strengths, address unmet needs, and promote long-term stability and success in the home, school, and community.

Responsibilities:
Provide counseling and case management services for enrolled youth and their families
Support client and family to connect to natural supports and community-based resources
Provide crisis intervention and other mental health services as needed at client homes, schools, and other community locations
Participate in all treatment reviews, program staff meetings, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when necessary
Complete mental health notes and other paperwork, and complete service tracking documentation as indicated
Assist with planning arrangements and transportation for school, therapy appointments, and court hearings as needed
Participate in providing emergency on-call response as scheduled
Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training
This may include intervening with the students’ behavioral program through physical management
Qualifications:
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree OR
Associate degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable experience OR
High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable experience
Applicable experience can include paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families or working in the social services field
Own vehicle, valid driver's license, clean driving record required
At least 21 years of age
TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
Experience working with children/youth and families with complex and enduring needs preferred
