The PLC Programmer designs, programs, and commissions automated machinery while ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards. They also provide technical guidance to team members and support customers through on-site installation and training.
Candidates must hold a college or university degree in engineering and possess 3 to 5 years of experience in control systems for automated machinery. The role requires the ability to travel internationally and proficiency in various programming languages and industrial technologies.
Designs, programs, commissions, installs and services automated machinery in accordance with customer requirements and external (CSA, ESA, OSHA, etc), company and department standards and policies. Generally, involves the application of the following technologies; PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, robots, servo systems, industrial networks, databases and PC based software applications.
Key Requirements (Education, Experience, and Qualifications)
Must be physically able to work with automated machinery from standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling and crouching positions. Must be able to work in all types of manufacturing environments (oil, dust, etc). May need to lift and/or move moderate weight.
The expected compensation range for this position is $37.85-$47.31. This range includes base pay and target variable pay. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We also consider internal equity to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. This range reflects the expected full compensation range for the role; most offers will fall within the range and not at the maximum in order to allow for future growth.
