Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Medium Voltage Area Manager to lead the daily operations within an assigned area. This position is responsible for overseeing production, quality, safety, scheduling, and personnel while ensuring the successful manufacturing of medium-voltage electrical equipment for industrial, utility, commercial, and infrastructure customers.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader with experience in electrical manufacturing, switchgear assembly, power distribution equipment, or industrial electrical systems. This individual will drive continuous improvement, maintain high-quality standards, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing, and final inspection of switchgear.
- Supervise Technicians and Installation technicians.
- Assemble mechanical systems and subassemblies using blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
- Perform final fit, torque, and testing procedures to ensure functionality
- Work with basic hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Follow build procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards
- Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve problems
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
Required Skills
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and interpret assembly instructions
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Comfortable using hand tools, drills, and measurement devices
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work standing for extended periods
- High school diploma or GED required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with pneumatics, hand tools, or basic wiring
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
- Basic knowledge of torque specs and fastener types
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly or manufacturing
