Full job description

Quest Corporation of America, Inc. (Quest) seeks a proven, experienced Engineering Communications Lead. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic organization and possess strong project management skills.

DESCRIPTION: As Engineering Communications Lead, you will be responsible for developing and managing strategic communications that support engineering and infrastructure-focused programs, initiatives, and projects. Working closely with program leadership and subject matter experts, this role translates complex information into clear, engaging, and accessible content for diverse audiences.

This position is responsible for the creation of communications assets, materials, and resources across digital and traditional channels, ensuring consistency in messaging, brand standards, and program objectives, driving the collaborative efforts to deliver the project’s deliverables, and inspiring teammates at all levels to exceed our client’s expectations.

The ideal person will have a strong background in client services, planning, developing, and implementing innovative, robust marketing strategies (agency or client-side) across all media, and be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in strategic communications for engineering and infrastructure programs for public and private organizations. This position requires the ability to use storytelling to connect with and engage our target audiences through creative writing and visualization.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Translate technical, engineering, and programmatic information into audience-focused messaging and storytelling.
  • Develop and execute communications plans that support engineering programs, projects, and organizational priorities.
  • Work on special Creative Services-related assignments, which include but are not limited to participating in discussions about creative strategy, designing presentations and elements for outreach initiatives for our clients.
  • Ensure communications are accurate, timely, engaging, and aligned with organizational branding and communication standards.
  • Create and coordinate the development of communications materials, campaign assets, videos, toolkits, guides, fact sheets, and related resources.
  • Work closely with our web, technology, creative, and multimedia teams to ensure strong integration of branding, graphics, copy, and concept, and be comfortable giving visual feedback
  • Collaborate with program teams and subject matter experts to identify communication and resource needs.
  • Manage content review, approvals, and updates to ensure materials remain current and relevant.
  • Support dissemination strategies to maximize awareness and utilization of educational resources.
  • Support the development of program reports, impact summaries, case studies, and related documentation.
  • Gather, organize, and synthesize information from multiple stakeholders to communicate program outcomes and achievements.
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations, briefings, and stakeholder communications.
  • Track communication activities and contribute to reporting on communication effectiveness and program reach.
  • Serve as a communications partner to assigned program teams and project leaders.
  • Develop persuasive, benefit-driven messaging to different customer groups in alignment with their needs
  • Play a role in developing key strategy documents (strategic business plan, annual marketing plan, product launch plans, etc.)
  • Coordinate with internal departments, external partners, and vendors as needed to support communications initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on messaging, communication best practices, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Daily use of reporting, analytics, and trend tools for all platforms.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to support program goals and communication objectives.
  • Write or edit publishing materials, scripts, or other communication following standard style guidelines such as 'Associated Press.'
  • Establish short-range and long-range improvement goals for the product management team and, under guidance, develop action plans to achieve those goals.

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, preferably in advertising, marketing, journalism, or communications, or a minimum of five (5) years of experience in robust marketing, multi-media planning/buying, and creative services.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong experience with client deliverables
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, and other relevant fields preferred, but the experience will be considered; state agency experience is a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years of digital experience, particularly with, but not limited to, web, social, and emerging technologies
  • Proven leadership experience in managing projects and clients
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and other third-party platforms such as Monday.com software/applications
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically to provide marketable solutions in conceiving, developing, and producing tactics
  • Passionate about marketing and communications while keeping up with industry trends
  • Ability to produce results independently, as well as collaboratively
  • Meticulous attention to detail and overall commitment to quality
  • Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale to other team members and clients
  • Ability to see other people's points of view and collaboratively discuss solutions
  • Proficient in all phases of the product design process, including conception, development, implementation, and production
  • Able to give and take directions from clients and distill them into compelling marketing strategies and messages
  • Able to give and receive constructive criticism and collaborate professionally in a fast-paced and continually evolving environment
  • Prepared to lead from the trenches, actively participating “hands-on” while also managing the deliverables from other divisions on behalf of clients
  • Experience with conversion and direct response-type campaigns and funnels
  • Familiarity with social listening, content distribution management, and measurement tools
  • Talent for understanding, simplifying, and effectively communicating complex information to diverse audiences
  • Commitment to excellence — working nonstandard hours when necessary, anticipating issues and communicating with diplomacy, identifying emerging platforms and trends to drive innovation
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills (AP style preferred)
