Description

This role can be completed in our Corry or Warrendale location.

Our Culture

Dream Big. Get Stuff Done. Have Fun. These are the three pillars at the core of our culture. Dream big means feeling empowered to think creatively with no limits, push boundaries, and take risks that will positively impact the future of our company. Get stuff done in an environment where empowerment, accountability, collaboration, and transparency really do exist. And have fun while you work in an informal, no-ego, people-first organization filled with passionate, innovative, and committed individuals. Go to work each day with a sense of purpose, helping define and deliver the future of mission-critical electronics.

Position Overview

The General Manager (“GM”) for Corry Micronics will oversee all aspects of the Company’s operations, including Engineering, Finance, Production, Supply Chain, and Sales & Business Development. The GM will have full P&L responsibility over the portfolio of Corry Micronics’ products and will be responsible for achieving the business unit’s financial and operational targets and strategic objectives.

The GM will supervise all functional leaders and lead the full site organization, using extensive technical and business knowledge to provide both tactical and strategic direction to define and execute the delivery of products. Our business unit GMs are given significant autonomy and function more like stand-alone business unit CEOs within a decentralized model — while benefiting from the support and financial resources of the parent organization, including a robust sales force, Human Resources, and M&A opportunities.

This is a hands-on role based on-site in Corry, Pennsylvania. Relocation assistance will be provided if needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general management leadership, with full P&L responsibility, for the entire organization; demonstrate the highest ethical standards and profitably build the business to reach its full potential
  • Develop short- and long-term strategies and operational plans to meet growth and profitability objectives; partner with executives to gain buy-in and approvals
  • Lead the development and execution of approved annual operating plans and budgets
  • Lead the strategic planning process, including capital investment and expansion plans as well as personnel skills requirements to support the strategic plans
  • Hire, train, and develop a team that can leverage the technological advantage of the organization; instill accountability and drive continuous improvement against financial and operational KPIs
  • Interact constructively with Engineering, Finance, HR, IT, Manufacturing, Program Management, Quality, and other departmental staff
  • Professionalize and optimize operating systems; ensure CMMC compliance, secure proper certifications, and enhance the ability to meet the needs of military contracts
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with lead customers; build and maintain strategic partnerships with key vendors
  • Partner with the Business Development team; work closely with prospects and customers to win new business opportunities
  • Proactively analyze operational metrics; make and drive process improvements within manufacturing, customer service, and supply chain
  • Use quantitative skills to analyze performance and management data, isolate insights, and communicate them to a diverse array of internal and external stakeholders
  • Enhance the Company’s image and brand by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees, enforcing ethical business practices
  • Serve as the face of the business and deliver positive cultural change
  • Ensure effectiveness, legality, and profitability of all agreements, and Company compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and customer contractual requirements
  • Other duties and special projects, as assigned

Requirements

Skills & Position Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a P&L management role as a senior leader (President, COO, GM, VP, Director) in the defense electronics manufacturing space
  • RF and microwave expertise is highly desired; will consider other highly technical products sold into the defense space, or an RF background sold into other markets
  • Deep expertise and relationships within the aerospace and/or defense electronics industries strongly preferred, especially with high-mix, low-volume production cycles
  • Strong operations background required; preference for candidates who grew up on the manufacturing floor and understand how to drive production, efficiencies, and results
  • Prior experience leading, or playing a key role in, an ERP implementation is valued
  • Track record of growth in winning contracts with Tier 1 prime companies (e.g., Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman) or equivalent is preferred
  • Knows how to recruit, build, train, and motivate a team to achieve results
  • Demonstrates solid judgment, accomplishes goals, and champions ethical business practices
  • Strong communication skills, with a proven track record interacting with executive-level management internally and externally, including negotiation of critical matters
  • Commercial orientation: works closely with Sales and Marketing/Communications teams; knows how to build strong relationships with lead customers and key vendors
  • Analytical: able to work through problems involving several concrete variables in complex situations; reviews and compares data to identify inconsistencies and set priorities

Desired Personal Characteristics

  • Engaged, proactive, and positive; owns assignments and is fully accountable for their success; aligns actions, behaviors, and conversations to what matters most
  • Brings out the best in others and recognizes the value in every person’s contribution
  • A bias for action and rapid decision-making
  • Comfortable operating in CRM and ERP environments (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Orientation toward mentoring to solve, rather than merely identify, problem areas
  • A willingness to roll up sleeves; low ego; someone who empowers others
  • A proactive communicator who builds constructive relationships internally and externally and shows respect for the views and contributions of others
  • Established reputation for excellence in services rendered and personal integrity
  • Able to work in, or relocate to, the Corry, Pennsylvania or Warrendale PA area
  • To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government
