Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following;
Provides assistance for members and guests in the Pro Shop.
Organizes and coordinates golf leagues, outings and special events.
Assists tee-time coordination.
Assists in the maintenance of an accurate inventory.
Marks and defines golf courses.
Produces educational films for members and guests on the current technology.
Performs club repair which includes grips, cut downs and epoxies.
Communicates with members, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of The Polo Club.
Performs other duties as assigned by the First Assistant Senior Golf Professional.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have good customer service skills.
Knowledge of golf merchandise is helpful.
Requires responsibility and accountability.
Requires good time/task management, and a positive and upbeat attitude.
Requires proficiency with club repair tools such as a vice, grip knife and shaft cutter.
Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing.
Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers and members.
Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to communicate well in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of members or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, PowerPoint software and Internet software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
PGM Program with the PGA of America is preferred.

Work Schedule and Time Off
Polo Club operates its business seven (7) days a week all year long. All employees are required to have flexibility to accommodate the business needs including all weekends and all holidays. There may be split shifts assigned per day. The time off scheduled during the week will vary and be based upon the club’s business activities.

Proof of your work eligibility must be produced within 3 days of your employment commencement date.
