About Peninsula Community Center (PCC)
Peninsula Community Center, a ministry of Peninsula Covenant Church (PCC), builds community by providing personal, healthy, and meaningful connections through aquatics, fitness, tennis, PE+, and community programming. PCC actively cultivates a culture of collaboration, personal growth, and fun across all teams.
Principal Objective
Under the supervision of both the Member Care Director and the Child Care Coordinator, the Center Front Desk & Child Care Staff serves as the primary point of contact for members and guests, working various shifts across both the Front Desk and the Child Care Room. This role ensures a seamless experience for visitors by providing a high level of customer service, maintaining a safe, nurturing environment for children, and keeping facilities operational and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities
1. Front Desk & Member Services Operations (30%)

Member Interactions: Warmly greet and thank all members, guests, and children upon arrival and departure.

System Administration: Answer multi-line phones politely, check members into the facility/childcare systems, handle sales transactions, and update member accounts.

Issue Resolution: Address member inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally; track feedback and escalate issues to leadership as required.
2. Child Care & Room Supervision (30%)

Child Safety & Engagement: Provide direct care, supervision, and engaging activities for children ages 1-7 in the Child Care Room, ensuring a safe, enriching, and joyful environment.

Check-In/Check-Out Security: Strictly follow attendance tracking, child check-in, and release procedures.
3. Concierge & Facility Upkeep (30%)

Active Engagement: Move around assigned areas to maximize meaningful connections with members and guests.

Facility Maintenance: Perform hourly tidying across assigned rooms and common areas. Communicate with the Facilities team for needed repairs or restock needs.

Specialized Facility Tasks: Assist with facility setup/breakdown, including restacking weights and putting on/taking off pool covers and lane lines (cranking handles, pulling, pushing).
4. Team Culture & Growth (10%)

Culture Commitment: Actively participate in organizational culture, growing in being/becoming/belonging, engaging/equipping/encouraging, and caring/connecting/community.

Team Participation: Attend and participate in program Bonfires, Campfires, Firesides, and staff meetings.
Qualifications & Requirements

Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.

Background Check: Clear Live Scan background certification required.

Certifications:
- Mandated Reporter Certification.
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certified (or willing to obtain certification within 3 months of hire).

Skills: Excellent communication, customer service orientation, multi-tasking ability, and a strong sense of teamwork.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Continual standing, walking, and moving indoors and outdoors during shifts (3.5 to 5-hour shift duration).
- Bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Physically assisting individuals out of pools or off equipment when necessary.
- Willing and able to perform CPR/AED and First Aid as required.
