The Health Care Aide assists residents with all activities of daily living, including physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, while promoting independence. Responsibilities include administering medication, documenting observations, and collaborating with the care team to implement personalized service plans.
Candidates must complete a recognized Health Care Aide program and maintain current registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta. Required certifications include active CPR and First Aid, with a mandatory internal medication administration course upon hire.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Care, working under the leadership of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, the Heath Care Aide assists residents with all activities of daily living that include the physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and cultural needs and interests of the residents.
All duties and responsibilities are carried out in alignment with Optima Living’s mission, vision, and values, promoting person-centered care by respecting the uniqueness, dignity, and self-determination of residents to promote maximum personal and functional independence. These duties are performed within the framework of established organizational policies and procedures, industry best practices, while adhering to applicable regulations and standards.
