GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The CNC Machinist is responsible for operating and maintaining Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to manufacture precision components that meet engineering specifications and quality standards. Depending on the level of operator, this may include setting up and programming these machines. This position plays a vital role in producing high-quality parts while maintaining production efficiency, equipment reliability, and workplace safety. The CNC Machinist works from blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to ensure products meet customer requirements and company expectations.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:
1. Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and other machining equipment to manufacture precision components. Depending on experience, this may vary and may require training.
2. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and technical specifications.
3. Select and install tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets for production runs.
4. Perform machine programming, editing, and adjustments as required to optimize machining operations.
5. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
6. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
7. Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication.
8. Troubleshoot machining issues and report equipment problems to supervision or maintenance personnel.
9. Maintain accurate production, quality, and inspection records.
10. Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing policies.
11. Maintain a clean and organized work area using established housekeeping practices.
12. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that increase safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Three (3) years of CNC machining experience or completion of a technical machining program.
3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
4. Experience using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.
5. Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC controls.
6. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience programming CNC machines using G-code or CAM software.
2. Experience machining oilfield or industrial components.
3. Knowledge of Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or similar CNC control systems.
4. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
5. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
6. Technical certification in CNC machining or precision manufacturing.

2. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering specifications.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is performed in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to CNC equipment, moving machinery, metal chips, cutting fluids, noise, and varying temperatures. Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
2. Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
3. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach while performing machining operations.
4. Ability to use hands and fingers for precise machine setup and measuring tasks.
5. Ability to distinguish colors, measurements, and fine details during inspection activities.
6. Ability to safely operate machinery and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
