The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of goods, inventory management, and team supervision. This role involves maintaining safety, productivity, and quality standards while leading and motivating warehouse staff. The Warehouse Supervisor will play a key role in coordinating tasks, monitoring workflow, and ensuring that all procedures are followed to meet company goals and customer requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities

Team Supervision & Leadership

Supervise and lead a team of warehouse employees, ensuring effective communication and task delegation.
Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to staff to improve skills and maintain productivity standards.
Conduct performance evaluations, set individual goals, and address any performance issues or concerns.
Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Inventory Control & Management

Coordinate accurate tracking and recording of inventory, ensuring proper documentation for all inbound and outbound shipments.
Monitor stock levels, reorder supplies as necessary, and coordinate with procurement teams.
Ensure the correct handling and storage of goods to prevent damage or loss.
Conduct regular inventory counts and audits.

Warehouse Operations & Organization

Ensure efficient use of warehouse space and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Optimize warehouse operations by improving workflow processes, reducing downtime, and implementing best practices.
Plan and coordinate the daily flow of goods in the warehouse to ensure timely processing and fulfillment of orders.
Oversee loading and unloading of goods, ensuring that processes are carried out safely and efficiently.

Health & Safety

Enforce compliance with safety regulations, including the proper use of equipment and protective gear.
Conduct safety inspections and identify potential hazards, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Promote a safe and healthy work environment for all employees by ensuring proper training and adherence to safety guidelines.

Reporting & Documentation

Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory transactions.
Generate regular reports on warehouse activities, such as productivity, inventory levels, and order fulfillment.
Assist in the development of operational procedures and improvements based on performance metrics.

Collaboration & Communication

Coordinate with other departments (e.g., sales, procurement, and logistics) to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
Provide regular updates to management on warehouse performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Other duties assigned

Assist with warehouse tasks and other duties as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the shipping department.

QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities

Excellent organizational, time-management skills, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Creative problem-solving and attention to detail.
Proficiency in using warehouse equipment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
Experience with shipping software or order management systems.
Knowledge of basic warehouse safety practices and protocols.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks as needed.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED

Previous experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics is preferred

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) and stand or move for long periods.
Typically, it works indoors in a warehouse setting.
The role requires physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Required to climb a ladder upwards 12 feet.
Long periods of standing.
Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
