Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
We're looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or General Practitioner with an ADHD special interest to lead ADHD assessments and support pathways for University of Waikato students.
Working as part of our multidisciplinary Student Health Services team, you'll undertake comprehensive assessments, gather information from students, clinicians and whānau, provide diagnosis where appropriate, and develop shared care plans that support both wellbeing and academic success. You'll also support medication initiation and management within your scope of practice, or work alongside community providers to ensure coordinated care.
Beyond individual assessments, you'll contribute to service development, provide advice to colleagues on ADHD-related matters, and help students access appropriate pathways where ADHD is not the most likely diagnosis.
There are (full time) 37.5 hours available, however these hours can be made up of part time hours which can be negotiated. Salary will be based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position.

You'll be a registered Nurse Practitioner or General Practitioner with strong assessment skills and an interest in ADHD, mental health and student wellbeing. As such, experience with ADHD assessment and management, primary care, mental health, or young adult populations will be highly regarded.
You will bring:
Current relevant New Zealand registration and practising certificate
Experience in assessment, diagnosis and clinical decision-making
An ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A commitment to culturally responsive care and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
