The engineer will interface with suppliers and stakeholders to disposition discrepant material tags. They are responsible for designing repairs for composite detail parts and assemblies in build facilities.
Requires a STEM degree with 5-8+ years of experience in composites manufacturing and aerospace repair processes. Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance and work a specific weekend second shift.
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal or Senior Principal Liaison/MRB Engineer 3/10 Weekend Shift (Friday-Sunday) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Iuka, MS.
Job Summary: The Liaison/MRB Engineer will interface with multiple suppliers and stakeholder groups (such as Structural Analysis, Materials & Processing and Manufacturing personnel) in the design center and build facilities. Will be responsible for dispositioning discrepant material tags. Strong communication and collaboration skills are a must. Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System, MES, and a Northrop Grumman MRB EN signature is a plus. The successful candidate will have experience with designing repairs for discrepant detail parts and assemblies fabricated from composite materials.
This requisition may be filled as either a Principal Engineer (level 3) or Senior Principal Engineer (level 4) based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5+ years related professional/military experience; OR Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of related professional/military experience
Sr. Principal Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8+ years related professional/military experience; OR Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6+ years of related professional/military experience
Hands-on experience in a composites manufacturing facility
Experience with military specs and standards
Experience with repair processes for composite materials used in aerospace structures
Must be willing and able to work 2nd Shift Hours: 2:30p.m - 12:00a.m EST
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Current active Secret clearance or higher
Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
Current NGAS MRB buyoff authority. "EN".
Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
