Lead the design and development of electrical power systems for aerospace vehicles, including wiring, power generation, and distribution. Manage the full lifecycle from architecture definition and trade studies to system testing, verification, and supplier coordination.
Requires a STEM degree with 8-12 years of experience depending on the degree level and an active US Government Secret clearance. Must have expertise in air vehicle electrical design and proficiency with NX and Capital software tools.
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Staff Electrical Power Systems Design Engineer (Level 5) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
In this role, you will lead the design and development of electrical power systems for aerospace vehicles, including wiring designs, power generation, distribution, and circuitry compliant with aerospace standards
The selected candidate will be one who excels in a dynamic work environment with high expectations and diverse assignments. Success requires strong collaboration across teams and a proactive, self-driven approach with minimal direction.
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 12 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience.
Must have an active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Top Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Experience in electrical design of air vehicle systems.
Experience in supplier relationship management, including briefing, coordinating, and/or following up with suppliers.
Experience with with NX and Capital software tools, or similar.
Active US Government Top Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Experience with military aircraft subsystem development, with requirements definition, specification development, component analysis, procurement, source selection, integration and test and verification for advance aircraft.
Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures.
