About the Role

The Senior Seed Sales Specialist will work in collaboration with the Executive VP of NSG Sales for Intermountain / Southwest region as well as the Sr. VP of Production and Procurement to serve customers purchasing forage and native seeds in the Pacific Northwest.

What You Will Do

Sales Activities

· Work up bids and pricing under the guidance of Senior Sales Staff for seed.

· Consult with customers and agencies on prescriptive seed mix designs.

· Take customer calls and emails directly as needed and assist with pricing orders and consulting.

· Support Senior Sales Staff in the development and maintenance of special contracts.

· Assist with developing and implementing competitive bidding procedures.

· Execute and maintain efficient order processing procedures

· Assist the Senior Sales Staff in efforts associated with inventory management.

· Process customer orders and follow through with warehouse manager on specific customer needs.

 · Some road travel in the PNW to maintain and develop customer relationships.

· Provide technical advice and support to seed dealers, consultants, non-profit organizations, cooperative boards, research farms,   

  and other seed professionals in cover, forage, and native seed industries.

· Attends industry meetings, workshops, field days, to provide technical support and observe new industry practices and methods.

· Ability to speak to company offerings as it relates to products, pricing and other company initiatives with dealers and growers   

  who want extensive technical and agronomic expertise.


Marketing & Business Development 

· Assist Senior Sales Staff in promoting the usage and benefits of native seed the market with key influencers in government   

  agencies and NGOs.

· Help Senior Sales Staff promote the Company’s ability to produce unique local ecotype seed.

· Attend trade events, speaking engagements, marketing materials, etc. 

 *Allergies: this position will be regularly subjected to possible allergens including grasses and flowering species 

Requirements

What You Bring

  

· Knowledge of forage and/or native plants relevant to the PNW 

· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

· Consummate team player and customer service experience

· Strong command of Microsoft Office

Required Undergraduate/Graduate Degrees

  

· Environmental Science 

· Plant Ecology 

· Rangeland Science

· Wildlife Conservation

· Agronomy

· Plant Science or related degree

Experience in one or more of the following is a plus, but not required:

  

· Seed Sales (turf, forage & ag, native)

· Turfgrass or Landscape Management 

· Government agencies such as NRCS, BLM, USFS, Fish & Wildlife, etc.

· Commercial background in reclamation, restoration, or conservation.
