McCuaig & Associates Engineering Ltd. is currently seeking a Jr. Technologist/EIT to join our Asset Management Department at our Calgary, AB office. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of technical building science and project management experience and has a keen interest in the field of asset management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers in the following Asset Management projects:
ConditionAssessments
Capital and Maintenance Planning
Depreciation Reports/ Reserve Fund Studies
Feasibility Studies
Perform site reviews / field investigation
Review of drawings, specifications and other relevant technical and financial document
Perform quantity takeoffs/estimating
Develop budgets and cash flows
Research building materials and maintain and update internal templates, database and library
Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other specialty consultants as necessary
Attend client meetings
Skills and Qualifications:
Registered or eligible to register as an AScTwith ASET or EIT/P.Eng. with APEGA
Strong technical writing skills and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
Excellent attention to detail and strong work ethic
Technically proficient in Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Autodesk Revit/CAD an asset
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and adapt toshifting priorities
Effective project management skills and experience
Relevant building science and construction industry related experience
Working knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE 90.1, NEBC, and relevant standards
Ability to travel
Ability to work at heights
Valid Driver’s License
