Position: Welder Helper
Department: Pipeline Integrity
Classification: Construction
Work environment: Field Project-based, hours may vary based on the job and client's demands. This position requires you to be able to work in all weather conditions.
Work hours: Fluctuate on a daily or weekly basis as determined by client and/or project needs. This position requires you to be able to work shifts of varying length, both day and night.

Excavation
Work Conditions:
Use of a tablet or laptop for communicating and reporting
Be able to work in various locations across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and BC.
Reliable transportation to access job sites
Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends, based on project needs
Be able to work outside in various climate conditions
Living Out Allowance (LOA) provided
Physically demanding role including heavy lifting, bending, and manual labour
Duties/Responsibilities:
Load, unload, and transport construction materials to designated work areas
Assist pipe welders by handling side responsibilities and allowing the welder to focus and properly weld thestructure
Holding parts and tools, transferring supplies, and keeping the workspace and equipment clean
Assist heavy equipment operators with attaching equipment, signaling, and general site support
Support pipeline construction activities, including pipe alignment and installation
Grade and level ground to specifications using hand tools such as rakes and shovels
Assist with demolition tasks and properly sort, clean, and stack salvaged materials
Remove debris and maintain clean, safe, and organized work sites
Operate tools such as pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers as directed
Support operation of equipment including mixers, compressors, and pumps
Assist with hazardous material handling, including spill cleanup and site remediation
Perform basic equipment maintenance, including oiling and greasing
Direct traffic in and around construction zones when required
Follow all company and client safety procedures and HSE requirements
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
Experience in pipeline construction or the oil and gas industry is considered an asset
Required safety certifications:
CSTS 20
H2S Alive
Standard First Aid (Level C with CPR/AED)
Ground Disturbance Level II
Confined Space (project dependent)
Successful completion of pre-employment testing, including:
Drug and alcohol screening
Audiometric testing
Hearing protection fit test
Respiratory mask fit test
