Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations and develop person-centered treatment plans for patients with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Facilitate evidence-based individual and group counseling while collaborating with a multidisciplinary medical team to ensure integrated care.
Requires an active Maryland counseling or social work certification or license (such as LCADC, LCPC, or LCSW-C). At least one year of experience in addiction counseling or behavioral health is preferred, along with strong technical proficiency.

Our Addiction Counselors focus on comprehensive behavioral health treatment, specifically addressing substance use. Our additional multidisciplinary services include Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), psychiatry, and mental health therapy.

Schedule:
40 hours per week, including just one evening shift until 7:00 PM. Schedules are subject to change based on patient needs).
What You Bring (Requirements)
Active Maryland counseling or social work certification/license (ADT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LCADC, LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, or LCSW-C).
At least 1 year of experience in addiction counseling or behavioral health preferred.
Tech Savviness: Strong proficiency in navigating multiple technology platforms and electronic systems. Ability to adapt quickly to new digital tools, workflows, and evolving processes in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a high level of clinical professionalism.
What You Will Do (The Role)
In alignment with the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors regulations, your responsibilities center on integrated care for Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) and Co-Occurring Disorders (CODs):
Clinical Evaluation & Assessment
Conduct comprehensive clinical biopsychosocial evaluations, including screenings, assessments, and participate in the development of diagnostic impressions for SUDs and CODs.
Person-Centered Treatment Planning
Partner with patients to design and execute individualized treatment plans, outlining clear goals for initial care, ongoing recovery, continuity of care, relapse prevention, and discharge.
Evidence-Based Counseling
Facilitate high-quality individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based, trauma-informed care and behavioral health modalities to help patients build lasting coping strategies.
Case Management & Service Coordination
Actively manage an assigned caseload, serving as a primary resource to help patients coordinate services, navigate treatment, and access necessary referrals.
Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration
Actively participate in team meetings and case presentations, collaborating closely with medical and psychiatric providers to ensure a seamlessly integrated approach to patient care.
Support System Education: Engage with family members and support systems, providing essential education, guidance, and community resources to strengthen the patient's recovery network.
Professional Documentation
Maintain thorough, timely, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system to track patient progress.

In addition to medication-assisted treatment, including Suboxone®, Sublocade® and Vivitrol®, a personal care plan can consist of primary and behavioral healthcare, as well as patient support services. Each personal care plan is based on a patient’s needs, and where there are on the path to recovery. We also use MATClinics’ proprietary analysis of data from nearly 100,000 patient visits to determine which treatment methods will likely produce the best, most efficient outcomes for a patient. In addition to a personal care plan, each patient is assigned a personal case manager – someone to whom they can turn when questions arise and who can help them access the resources they need. Having a go-to person at their disposal will reduce the stress in their life and potential barriers to their recovery. At MATClinics, we value each patient for their unique needs and potential, while serving as a steadfast resource to them throughout their recovery.
