Role Overview
MAS is seeking a motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering team, supporting projects in industrial and oil & gas applications, power energy systems, and mechanical actuation installations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the engineering, technical execution, installation supervision, and commissioning of mechanical equipment upgrades, including turbine governors, hydraulic actuators, servo systems, valves, and associated mechanical assemblies.
The role requires close collaboration with automation, electrical, and commissioning engineers to deliver complete retrofit and modernization projects for electric power plants, industrial and marine applications.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mechanical engineering for governor and hydraulic actuation system upgrade projects.
Prepare engineering documentation, mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and material lists.
Design and evaluate mechanical modifications required for retrofit installations.
Review existing plant equipment and propose suitable upgrade solutions.
Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and project teams during the engineering phase.
Supervise the installation of mechanical equipment on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Provide technical guidance to installation contractors during assembly and alignment activities.
Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
Execute mechanical commissioning of governors, hydraulic power units, actuators, control valves, and auxiliary systems.
Support integrated commissioning activities together with electrical and automation engineers to ensure integrated system design and delivery.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during installation and operation phases.
Prepare and maintain structured technical documentation, reports, and as-built records throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable safety regulations, industry standards, and company procedures.
Travel domestically and internationally for project execution when required.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
3–6 years of experience in mechanical engineering, industrial projects, or energy-related systems.
Experience with mechanical design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
Solid understanding of industrial mechanical systems, including piping, pumps, compressors, rotating equipment, and retrofit installations.
Familiarity with installation, commissioning, and field engineering activities in industrial environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good command of English.
Availability to travel domestically and internationally when required.
Considered a Strong Asset
Experience in power generation, oil & gas, or other industrial sectors.
Familiarity with engineering standards and codes (e.g., ASME, ISO).
Basic understanding of automation and control systems.
Experience with technical documentation, FAT/SAT, and project reporting.
