Salary Range:
$81,000 to $122,000
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Human Services from a four-year college or university; a minimum of three (3) years experience working with people with developmental disabilities; with a minimum of 2 out of the 3 years of experience completed in an OPWDD certified program; and a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Essential Functions:
In conjunction with the Director of Community Services and Quality Manager, assists in the development of and implements the quality improvement plan within the Community Services Department to ensure regulatory compliance is maintained.
Implements personnel policies and procedures for all staff within the Community Service Department.
Keeps the Director of Community Services informed of any major personnel problems within the Community Services Department and makes recommendations as the result of an investigation to the Director of Community Services for termination of employment for Department staff.
Responsible for overall supervision of the residences and Residence Managers. Assumes coverage responsibilities, including direct service activities, in the absence of a Residence Manager, for support or in the event of vacancies, medical leaves vacations, etc.
Makes regular and frequent site visits to the residences, including overnight visits, to observe program, participate in team meetings and monitor overall status of residents and facilities. Maintains documentation of oversight activities.
Provides administrative and professional supervision of clinical staff (RNs, BIS, QIDP, OT, etc) utilizing the Interactional Supervision Model. Maintains a supervisory log for each staff member, meets regularly with each staff and provides an annual evaluation for all such staff members outlining professional development goals.
Supports new hire process and training of all staff.
In conjunction with the Quality Manager, facilitates regular, (at least quarterly) group RN, BIS and QIDP meetings to discuss compliance specific to each group.
Is responsible for participating in the leadership development of the Community Services teams, to build capacity and quality of service delivery.
Provides staff training in the areas of compliance across a variety of areas in the Department as needed.
Develops and recommends to the Director of Community Services appropriate standards and protocols to implement in the Department.
In conjunction with the Director of Community Services, ensures that all standards, protocols and regulations pertinent to the individuals served and facilities are carried out.
Ensures that each individual is receiving the appropriate program and care within each residence per their plans in accordance with applicable regulations.
Communicates all necessary important information relative to the operation of the Department to the Director of Community Services.
In conjunction with the Quality Manager, interfaces with OPWDD Division of Quality Improvement staff for all Program Certification Reviews, attends exit conferences, formulates all Plans of Corrective Action and assists in monitoring activities for maintaining compliance.
I conjunction with the Quality Manager, implements the Incident Reporting and Review System for the Department. Provides technical support to the Residence Managers and assists in coordination of completing the necessary paperwork, notifications, monitoring progress and activities of all reportable incidents, serious reportable incidents and allegations of abuse until closure in accordance with the 624 regulations.
Maintains a weekly work schedule of regular blocks of time spent at each residence. Incorporates one evening per week into the regular schedule to view dinner and evening activities in a rotation for each residence. In addition, rotates between an overnight and weekend "check-in" one time per month. These regular and frequent site visits to the residence are to observe program, participate in team meetings, offer technical/regulatory support and monitor overall status of residents and facilities. Maintains documentation of oversight activities. The rotation would be opposite of what the Quality Manager is doing so that more shifts are covered.
Works with each Residence Manager to monitor the physical plant of each residence.
