Summary
The Inside Sales Representative serves as the primary liaison between Marchant Schmidt, Inc. and its customers. This position is responsible for managing the complete sales cycle, including generating quotations, processing orders, maintaining customer relationships, and identifying opportunities for additional sales. The Inside Sales Representative works closely with customers and internal departments to ensure accurate order entry, timely delivery, and a high level of customer satisfaction while supporting the company's revenue growth objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Quote and Proposal Generation
Prepare accurate and timely quotations, proposals, and pricing information based on customer requirements.
Review customer specifications, drawings, and technical requirements to ensure quotation accuracy.
Follow up on outstanding quotations and provide additional information as needed to secure orders.
Order Management
Enter and maintain customer orders within the ERP system.
Verify order accuracy, pricing, delivery schedules, and product configurations.
Coordinate with engineering, production, purchasing, and shipping departments to ensure successful order fulfillment.
Monitor order status and communicate updates to customers.
Customer Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers.
Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, lead times, order status, and technical information.
Build and maintain positive customer relationships through professional communication and responsive service.
Maintain accurate customer records and communication logs within the CRM system.
Lead Generation and Sales Growth
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through outbound calls, email campaigns, referrals, and customer follow-up.
Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers.
Promote additional products and services through cross-selling and upselling activities.
Support company sales initiatives and revenue growth objectives.
Problem Resolution
Investigate and resolve customer concerns, order discrepancies, delivery issues, and service-related problems.
Collaborate with internal departments to identify solutions and maintain customer satisfaction.
Escalate complex issues when necessary and ensure timely follow-up.
General Responsibilities
Maintain accurate sales activity records and customer information within the CRM system.
Participate in sales meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
