Full job description
Lyten is leading an industrial revolution through Lyten 3D Graphene™, a breakthrough supermaterial unlocking a new generation of products — from lithium–sulfur batteries and energy storage systems to concrete admixtures, lightweight composites, and next-generation sensors that are revolutionizing industries. Together, these innovations are making a massive global improvement and driving real-world impact across energy, mobility, construction, and defense.
At Lyten, we believe the most meaningful careers begin with purpose — and with people who want to make a difference. We’re not just developing advanced supermaterials — we’re about to change the world as we know it, reshaping how energy is stored, how products are built, and how progress is made.
We’re entering an exciting growth phase, scaling production across the U.S. and Europe and expanding our team of engineers, scientists, and innovators.
Apply now to join our team and be part of something bigger than yourself — where collaboration, creativity, and purpose come together to build the technologies that will define the next century.
Job Scope
Lyten is seeking a Production Engineer with a specialization in automated industrial (battery) productions. As a Production Engineer (Pilot Production) you will stabilize, scale, and continuously improve pilot‑line processes that span electrode manufacturing, cell assembly, and formation & aging. Your mission is to translate cell designs and lab recipes into robust, traceable processes ready for industrialization at Northvolt gigafactories. You will work closely together with production, process, quality, and automation engineers to make sure the production process is achieving the required stability and is ready for transfer to gigafactory scale. You will ensure process and equipment meet availability and reliability and resolve production issues with a sense of urgency.
Key Responsibilities
Overall areas of responsibilities and activities
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
Own pilot-line selected production steps across Wet- and Dry Electrode, Assembly and Formation & Aging processes. Defining, monitoring and improving Operation Parameter Ranges and control windows fit for the Labs pilot productions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define production system requirements, select suitable hardware and software, and create robust solutions for production lines.
Follow data-driven production control methods, implementing SPC on CtQs and MSAs to ensure capability prior to scale-up.
Together with IT and Automation teams implement the necessary dashboards for OEE, FPY, scrap, downtime with Pareto’s and trends to facilitate progress tracking and root cause analysis.
Prepare and maintain Process Flow, PFMEA and work instructions as preparation for pilot productions.
Partner with Safety & Environment to validate process changes against standard requirements.
Own root-cause analysis on equipment and process performance improvements during A- and B-sample productions, following structured RCA methods.
Work hands-on with Cell Design, Materials, Maintenance & Automation, Supply chain and Operations on fast learning cycles and problem solving to increase production process maturity.
Support and collaborate with project teams to select the most proficient equipment suppliers from an automation perspective.
Responsible for acceptance of the Site Acceptance Tests of equipment upon commissioning completion.
Organize and take part in internal training and workshops.
Cost estimations for projects and change requests. Provide input for quoting, planning works, and change orders.
