JOB OVERVIEW

The Site Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations and long-term planning of a nuclear waste sorting facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant performance in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. This role is critical to ensuring operational excellence through strong governance, disciplined reporting, implementation of a Quality Management System (QMS), and a sustained focus on continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will bring leadership, structure, and strategic direction to site operations while ensuring full alignment with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Working in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations:

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, with a solid working knowledge of hazards associated with industrial and nuclear environments.
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
  • Continually assess, maintain, and improve Laurentis Energy Partners and nuclear-specific governing documents, including policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Provide overall leadership and control of site operations, ensuring a safe, reliable, and efficient execution of all activities.
  • Supervise and support staff by delivering technical, consultative, and problem-solving services related to the operation and maintenance of the nuclear waste sorting facility.
  • Provide expert technical advice, guidance, specifications, and product expertise to station personnel, management, and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee activities such as system redesign, equipment and component modifications, fabrication, construction, and commissioning.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a site-wide Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure all processes are controlled, documented, auditable, and aligned with industry and regulatory expectations.
  • Maintain management systems that meet due diligence requirements and ensure they are effectively sustained over time.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate reporting practices, delivering accurate, timely, and standardized reporting.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze technical and operational results, and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Ensure cost control procedures are established and adhered to, delivering activities within budget constraints.
  • Identify opportunities to improve work processes and drive operational efficiency.
  • Cultivate awareness of organizational changes and adapt methods and operations accordingly.
  • Develop and implement strategies and work processes for the facility, optimizing performance and resource utilization.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, cost, and overall performance.
  • Develop and implement work plans aligned with departmental objectives and time horizons.
  • Establish task context, controls, limits, and performance expectations using structured planning approaches.
  • Assign and manage work, ensuring appropriate complexity, clarity of expectations, and alignment with operational goals.
  • Engage team members in defining requirements, identifying issues, and contributing to solutions.
  • In collaboration with the Operations Manager, foster a supportive, non-threatening team environment that promotes accountability and high performance.
  • Act as a coach and facilitator, empowering staff to achieve optimal performance and self-management.
  • Identify and address training and development needs, ensuring training programs are relevant and effectively evaluated.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Provide meaningful input into departmental plans, work programs, and strategic initiatives.
  • Perform the role of Site Manager in accordance with approved policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational objectives.
