The driver is responsible for the safe transport and delivery of cargo using large commercial vehicles while adhering to all DOT safety regulations. Duties include performing vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate logs, and supervising the loading and unloading of materials.
Candidates must possess a Class A CDL, a clean driving record, and a high school diploma or GED. At least 3 years of experience in heavy truck operation, preferably in tree service or logging, is required.
POSITION SUMMARY: The truck driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently driving large commercial vehicles and may require extended hours to pick-up/deliver loads. All safety regulations and standards regarding size, weight, and break periods must be followed. The truck driver will also be responsible for receiving cargo, parking in appropriate places, tracking mileage, and documenting schedules, delivery confirmations, and maintaining logs/records as needed. WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed at in a truck, outdoor job-sites, in the company yard and buildings. The position requires travel to customer/vendor sites with related exposure to routine hazards such as moving machinery, vehicles, and severe weather conditions. Some prolonged travel and overnight stays may be required. Subject to odors, fumes and substances typically associated with truck operations and from other gasoline/diesel fuel equipment use. Subject to varied workloads and must possess ability to work in a busy environment. Must be able to remain calm in emergencies to prevent injuries, maintain safety and assist as needed. Position is considered minimally stressful on an occasional basis. |
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or GED equivalent certification; additional truck driving school certification or education a plus |
LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONSA Driver’s License in good standing and Class A CDL is required. Must have a clean driving record with no recent moving violations. |
