Full job description
At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at The Neighbourhood Vet on a full-time basis.
The Neighbourhood Vet is a lovely 20-vet practice in SE London that was set up by two Australian vets almost 10 years ago.
Our main hospital is situated in the heart of East Dulwich on popular Lordship Lane, and our two branch clinics are located in Crofton Park and Penge, where we are an active part of the local community.
Although we are a large group, we have a close, caring and fun team, some of whom have been with us since we opened. We pride ourselves on being kind and compassionate, and on doing the right thing for our staff, clients and their pets. And we like laughing and try to make every day at work a good one.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases', contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
This role involves working 4 days a week (Monday to Friday), averaging 9.5 hours per day. It includes a 1 in 4 full weekend rota (Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM–7:00 PM), with a day off in lieu—usually the following Monday—after working a Sunday. There is also a 1 in 8 shorter weekend rota, covering Saturday only from 8:30 AM–3:00 PM. There is no OOH or working during Bank Holidays.
General responsibilities include:
*Nurse consultations
*Assisting our Vets in surgery and consultations
*Monitoring anaesthesia
*Lab sampling

* Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
* A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
How We’ll Support You
At inspiring vet care, we’re committed to supporting your ongoing development and wellbeing. When you join us, you’ll benefit from:
* A varied and rewarding nursing role within a supportive primary care environment
Clear career pathways with progression opportunities into Senior Nurse, Referral, or leadership roles as well as clinical supervisors, mentors and certificate holders.
* Ongoing learning and development supported by experienced colleagues and practice teams
* A collaborative, values-led culture focused on care, community, and continuous improvement
