About IWV
Iron Will Ventures is a cleared defense small business supporting the nation's highest-priority hypersonic flight test, missile defense, and launch operations missions. We deliver practitioner-grade technical, program, and acquisition support to DoW customers across the enterprise — including TRMC, MDA, JHTO, and the missile enterprise community.
Position Summary IWV seeks a senior hypersonics test and systems engineering SME to provide SETA/A&AS support to the OUSD SHY scaled hypersonics effort. The role anchors technical planning, independent assessment for low-cost hypersonic vehicle development and demonstration. Ideal candidate brings decades of DoD missile/hypersonic T&E leadership and government-side program management credibility.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical and programmatic advisory support for scaled hypersonic vehicle concepts, feasibility studies, and low-cost flight demonstration approaches.
Lead independent technical assessment: requirements traceability, milestone review readiness (SRR/PDR/CDR/TRR), M&S V&V, and trajectory/6-DoF analysis oversight.
Develop and review target/vehicle product specifications, CDRLs, and mission-specific requirements.
Advise the government customer on cost, schedule, and technical risk for demonstration efforts.
Required Qualifications
20+ years DoD missile, interceptor, or hypersonic system engineering / T&E experience.
Demonstrated chief engineer or director-level leadership on major defense programs.
Direct experience with hypersonic and ballistic target/vehicle development and flight test execution.
Deep familiarity with MDA and/or Service test enterprise processes, milestone reviews, and CDRL management.
Active TS clearance with SCI/SAP eligibility.
BS in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical-lead role in a missile defense or hypersonics program office.
Experience with low-cost / non-traditional target and demonstration approaches.
MS in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, or related field.
