An opportunity exists for an experienced Hydraulic Systems Support Technician to provide technical support across hydraulic systems at Tasman Mill. This role is focused on improving system reliability, lifting maintenance standards, and ensuring accuracy across hydraulic assets, documentation, and SAP data.
Key Responsibilities
Hydraulic Maintenance & Reliability
Execute and improve preventative maintenance (PM) tasks across hydraulic systems
Review maintenance strategies for routine work and shutdowns
Provide hands-on fault finding and technical diagnostic support across plant
System Audit & Technical Accuracy
Verify hydraulic schematics against installed plant equipment
Identify discrepancies and drive updates alongside engineering and drafting teams
Ensure hydraulic documentation is accurate, current, and controlled
SAP, BOM & Spares Optimisation
Audit hydraulic components (rams, valves, accumulators, control blocks, etc.)
Align physical assets with SAP material records
Identify and correct gaps, inaccuracies, and obsolete materials
Update BOMs to reflect actual installed configurations
Review and optimise critical and capital spare holdings
System Improvement & Monitoring
Identify opportunities to improve system performance and diagnostics
Recommend improvements such as condition monitoring, sampling points, and pressure testing capability
Contribute to improving fault detection and reliability outcomes
Root Cause Analysis
Provide technical input into RCAs involving hydraulic systems
Support identification of failure modes and implementation of long-term fixes
About You
Strong experience working with industrial hydraulic systems in a heavy plant or manufacturing environment
Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic capability
Experience working with SAP or similar CMMS systems
Ability to interpret hydraulic drawings and understand system design
Detail-focused with a strong focus on accuracy and continuous improvement
Role Details
Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm (onsite)
Involvement in shutdowns and breakdown response as required
This role is suited to someone who can step into a complex plant environment and take ownership of hydraulic system performance, data accuracy, and continuous improvement.
