Requirements
Candidates must have proven welding experience and the ability to read engineering drawings. A strong commitment to health and safety and a willingness to obtain an ASME IX Welding Qualification are required.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Welder to join our team working on-site at the Oji Fibre Solutions Tasman Mill in Kawerau.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within one of New Zealand's largest industrial manufacturing environments, undertaking a variety of maintenance, shutdown, fabrication, and project work. We are looking for a tradesperson who takes pride in producing quality work, has a strong safety focus, and is interested in developing their skills further, including obtaining an ASME IX Welding Qualification.
About the Role
The role offers variety, challenge, and the opportunity to work within a large-scale industrial environment where quality workmanship and safety are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Welding of plant and equipment components
Equipment and plant maintenance repairs
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
Working safely within a high-risk industrial environment
Supporting shutdown and project activities
Maintaining high standards of workmanship and productivity
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in welding
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
A proactive and reliable approach to work
Excellent health and safety awareness
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
A willingness and ability to obtain an ASME IX Welding Qualification
Preference will be given to applicants who reside in Kawerau or the surrounding Eastern Bay of Plenty region.
What We Offer
Competitive pay rate of $38.00 - $41.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
