Responsibilities

Responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair, and alteration of all electrical equipment across Building Authority properties. Duties include maintaining lighting, generators, fire alarms, and various commercial electrical systems.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma, a valid Indiana Driver's License, and at least 3 years of experience in electrical system maintenance and installation. Candidates must be self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Description

Position Summary:

Reports and takes direction from the Electrical Supervisor and is responsible for the preventive 

maintenance, repair and alterations of all electrical equipment at the Building Authority 

properties.

Specific Duties:

  1. Performs preventative maintenance and repair work to include:
  • Lighting systems
  • Emergency generators
  • Motors and motor control systems.
  • Pumps (CCB)
  • Card readers. (CCB)
  • Automatic door system. (CCB)
  • Commercial Laundry equipment. (CCB)
  • Air conditioning systems and control circuits. (CCB)
  • Various electrical kitchen equipment systems. (CCB)
  • Intercom systems and public address systems. (CCB)
  • High voltage switch gear. (CJC)
  • Fire and smoke alarm systems. (CJC)

     2. Performs electrical alterations for Building maintained by Downtown operations to include.

  • Installation of communication cable.
  • Installation of switches and receptacles.
  • Installation of conduit and pulling wires.
  • Connection of completed electrical circuits to power sources.
  • Interpret and apply NEC to job. (CCB)
  • Installation of various camera systems. (CCB)
  • Reading of blueprints and schematics diagrams (CCB)
  • Assist electrical supervisor in laying out alterations. (CCB)
  • Installation of various fire alarm equipment. (CJC)
  • To comply with Building Authority policies, procedures and safety regulations.
  • Assist the other shops with maintenance repair.
  • To perform all other duties as assigned by the Electrical supervisor.

Equipment Used:

The Electrician should be familiar with equipment and tools including Mega Ohm, Amp and Volt meters, Circuit Traces, Pipe Benders, Trucks, Ladders, Electrical Hand Tools and Safety Equipment. 

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma.
  2. 3 Years of Previous experience and working knowledge in the preventative maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems.
  3. Valid Indiana Driver’s License.
  4. Self-motivated.
  5. Ability to work independently.
  6. Ability to work flexible schedule.
  7. Ability to work well with others including fellow employees, outside vendors, contractors and customers.

Work Environment

  •  This position requires work in an indoor building setting and exposed to outdoor environments.
  •  This position requires working independently, as well as part of a team.
  •  This position requires verbal and face-to-face contact with others on a daily basis.
  •  This position requires the use and knowledge of maintenance tools.
