The Career Education Specialist guides 9th and 10th-grade students through project-based learning, mentoring, and work-based initiatives to prepare them for future success. They also manage student data, cultivate community partnerships, and maintain a structured, inclusive classroom environment.
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, counseling, or education is required, with a master's degree strongly preferred. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain iJAG and Work-Based Learning authorizations within six months of hire.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $49,000 – $53,000 per year based on qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.

iJAG is an nonprofit organization associated with the national affiliate, Jobs for Americas Graduates. Since in 1999, iJAG has led the implementation of age-appropriate career development curriculum, resources and experiences for middle school and high school students across Iowa and Illinois. Currently, the organization serves more than 7,200 students. iJAG participants are determined annually by school administrators - typically identified as students who are disengaged at school, who are at a high-risk of dropping out or who lack skills and motivation to continue their education and pursue stable employment. “Every Student.
