Job DetailsJob Location: IEA Kenosha Plant - Kenosha, WI 53144Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $23.00 HourlyJob Summary: The Maintenance Custodian for Buildings and Grounds performs cleaning service, on facilities and grounds. In addition, it performs basic maintenance duties in and around the plant. This Maintenance Custodian receives specific work assignments under general supervision and resolves most with general supervisory assistance. The Maintenance Custodian is expected to follow the Company’s Policies and principles and to always observe safe work practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties assigned as necessary:
Gathers necessary supplies and equipment to complete assigned tasks. Performs scheduled and unscheduled (custodial and routine service tasks) on buildings and grounds. Performs routine maintenance activities. Identifies and reports repair problems to the Maintenance department. Moves materials from storage areas to plant as needed using power equipment (e.g., industrial trucks, power hoists) or, when appropriate, by hand; loads/unloads vehicles. Works in a safe manner, follows all safety rules, Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with IEA’s ISO and Quality standards. Contributes to the Company’s overall improvement efforts and supports IEA’s 6s efforts. Reasonable accommodation may be provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.
Custodial Duties
Cleaning of all windows. Dusting all surfaces Trash removal- collecting and taking out trash and recycling. Maintaining a thorough inventory of cleaning supplies Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition. Scrubs, sanitizes, (e.g., floors, stairs, stalls, urinals, sinks etc.) and supplies restrooms and common areas throughout facility. Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with cleaners. Drives vehicles are required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including industrial trucks, vans, or industrial vacuum cleaners. Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department. Clean all microwaves, refrigerators, chairs, tables, counters, water fountains, sinks and coffee kiosks. Responsible for the tear down and cleanup of company-sponsored events. Snow removal as needed. Responsibility of 5S for equipment and supplies. Floor scrub main employee aisle from employee entrance to vending machines, up and down stairs aisles, and all production floor aisles. Vacuum employee lunchroom and training room.
Physical Demands
Maximum lifting requirement (pounds): 50 (occasionally), 25 (frequently). Maximum moving requirement (pounds): Over 100 with assistance. Maintaining physical condition necessary for the following: Frequent lifting, carrying, standing, sitting, walking, climbing, crouching, stooping, squatting, and twisting upper body. Working at heights off the ground up to 30 feet. Vision requirements: Close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception.
Work Environment
Work location: Office, Metal fabrication/assembly shop and indoor/outdoor storage areas. Exposure to: Fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts/equipment including overhead cranes, sharp/heavy materials, inclement weather. Personal protective equipment requirement: Safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes.
QualificationsPosition Requirements
Key skills, abilities and knowledge
Ability to read, understand and carry out oral and written instructions (job orders). Knowledge of buildings and equipment and common Custodial practices (including procedures, and tools). Ability to diagnose problems and perform minor repairs. Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time. Ability to use appropriate cleaning tools, such as vacuums, walk-behind auto floor scrubber, auto ride floor scrubber, hand sweepers, mop buckets to clean non- carpeted areas such as lobbies, stairways, and corridors. Ability to operate industrial equipment including lift trucks, power hoists, etc. Knowledge of occupational hazards and the ability to practice safe work practices. Ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
Experiential: Three or more years of custodial or related experience is desirable.
Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions. Forklift operator 2 years minimum.
Educational: Related technical training (high school or beyond) is desirable but not essential. Certificates, Licenses: Forklift operator certification, stand up and sit down; driver’s license.
