The Material Preparation / Saw Operator is responsible for receiving, moving, sawing, heat treating, and deburring metal bar stock.
Requirements
Essential Functions
Unload bar stock from delivery trucks using forklift and other material handling equipment, receive it in the ERP system, and put away in designated location.
Set up and operate manual and automatic saws, heat treat furnace, and cryogenic chamber.
Perform sawing, heat treating, and cryogenic treatment operations in accordance with written instructions.
Gather, clean and deliver material totes daily to support the Stockroom and the shop floor.
Other tasks as required.
Required Competencies
Able to operate and be certified for use of forklift trucks within first 30 days; training is provided onsite.
Able to work independently once tasks are defined and completion targets are set.
Able to multitask in a detailed, accurate, timely fashion
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
Basic computer skills
Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment This position operates in a machine shop / loading dock environment.
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, some of which may be done with accommodations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
Climb on and off of lift trucks and other equipment.
Use a variety of hand and power tools.
Move throughout the facility, sit, kneel, stand or bend and reach with hands and arms.
Lift items weighing 50+ pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time hourly position which operates Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.
Travel Travel is not required for this role.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
3+ Years in a shipping/receiving environment desirable
ERP experience helpful
