Guardians of Honor (GOH) is a small management consulting firm supporting the federal government since 1997 (www.gohnow.com). We are seeking experienced STEM education professionals to support the operation of our DoD STARBASE Academy client at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida. 

GOH is recruiting in anticipation of potential future openings that are subject to final approval and funding. No guarantee of position availability can be made at this time; however, candidate identification and preliminary interviews are being conducted to support timely hiring should authorization be granted. 

Position Overview  - Service Contract Act (SCA) Position 

The Office Manager supports the STARBASE Academy staff by maintaining records, correspondence, and files; assists in preparing classroom materials and activities; and supports Program Instructors in class activities as needed. The Office Manager greets visitors, answers the telephone, and schedules meetings with staff or visitors. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Manage office duties, including maintaining records, correspondence, and files for the STARBASE Academy 
• Greet visitors and guests, answer the telephone, and schedule meetings with staff or visitors 
• Assist in preparing classroom materials and activities 
• Assist Program Instructors in classroom activities as needed 
• With appropriate educational credentials (as outlined for a Program Instructor), may provide classroom instruction 

Requirements

• High school diploma or higher 
• Must be at least 18 years old 

Additional Qualifications 

• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office correspondence practices 
• Professional, welcoming manner for visitor and telephone interactions 
• Completion of criminal history background check IAW DoDI 1402.05, per DoDI 1025.07 paragraph 4.1 

Supervisory Responsibilities: None. 

Reports to: STARBASE Director 

Work Environment: Onsite at the DoD STARBASE facility; Patrick Space Force Base (Satellite Beach, FL). 

Physical demands: The physical demands of the job include sitting for extended periods, and occasional walking and standing. 

Position type and expected hours of work: Full-time, non-exempt, SCA. Core office hours are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. 

Travel: Minimal; primarily local to the STARBASE facility. 

Required education and experience: High school diploma required; age 18 or older.
