JOB OVERVIEW:
The Reconciliation Temp – Reconciliation temp is assisting the full reconciliation team with investigated unresolved differences through mini projects and otherwise. They are there to handle low priority items giving room for the more seasoned staff to be more focus on bringing down the overall unresolved differences.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Complete of low-risk reconciliation
• Investigate, clear and closure of reconciliation items across multiple years (e.g., legacy items from 2024 and prior), ensuring completeness and accuracy of balances.
• Clear reconciliation backlogs with targets such as achieving an 80% resolution rate for aged items within specified timeframes (e.g., Jan–Oct 2025).
2. Prepare Indebtedness Statement
• Accurately update the outstanding balances for staff and agent upon request with a turn-around time dependent on urgency. Typically, delivery by the specified on the initial request if not, general delivery time of 3 working days and 5 working days dependent on volume.
3. Assist with the preparation of Cash Management
• To assist the bank team with running report and updating the summary sheet.
• Updated Cash Management is sent for review by 10am each day
4. Review and manage mailbox of OR Team and Bank Reconciliations Team
• All mailboxes should be monitored twice a day and address all correspondence with 24hrs to 72hrs
5. Manage end to end assigned Projects
• A deep dive approach with investigating certain categories of transaction and reporting back to the lead on the project of their findings
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• 5 CXC/CSEC passes including Mathematics and English Language
• 1-2 years in the accounting field
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The General Accounting Assistant must be meticulous, systematic and logical. He/she must be able to manage time and resources efficiently. He/she must be able to interact with staff at all levels within the Guardian Group as well as with third party persons; and must possess the ability to perform large amounts of numerical work with speed and accuracy. He/she must be able to recognize internal control breaches and respond in a timely manner to escalate or resolve such issues.
