Responsibilities

The Product Manager is responsible for driving the growth and performance of key product categories through pricing analysis, forecasting, and vendor management. They will also coordinate with marketing teams to execute product launches and maintain accurate product content across channels.

Requirements

Candidates should have 2-4 years of experience in product management, marketing, or procurement, preferably with a post-secondary degree in a related field. Strong analytical skills in Excel and a background in agriculture or animal health are highly valued.

In 1996, Farmers Depot was established and has grown to be the complete animal health and equipment supplier for livestock producers across Canada providing thousands of quality animal health products at a competitive price with next day delivery, and product support. Farmers Depot is under the GVF Group of Companies umbrella and operates in close affiliation with Grand Valley Fortifiers and Fortified Nutrition Limited. Both brands manufacture and sell high-quality, leading-edge vitamin and mineral premixes and supplements for swine, dairy, beef and poultry producers.

Today the GVF Group is comprised of seven divisions: Grand Valley Fortifiers, Fortified Nutrition, Farmers Depot, Direct Source Commodities, Valley Feeds, True Foods and On Farm Business Intelligence.

Why we have this role:

Farmers Depot is seeking a Product Manager to support the growth, execution, and performance of key product categories within Canadian livestock agriculture. Reporting to the Category Manager, this role combines product strategy, pricing analysis, marketing coordination, vendor relationship management, and sales support.



The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to analyze market opportunities, support product growth, and deliver initiatives that improve product performance across Farmers Depot channels.



This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative professional who enjoys working at the intersection of product, marketing, sales, and agriculture.

Working with us:

This is a permanent, full-time role based in either our Cambridge, Ontario, Red Deer, Alberta, or Lethbridge, Alberta office. Our typical hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

From time to time, a bit of flexibility outside these hours may be needed depending on business needs. Occasional travel may also be part of the role, including attending trade shows or visiting farms to gather product feedback.

What you’ll do:

Product Pricing & Forecasting

  • Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and product performance to support pricing decisions.
  • Develop pricing recommendations and sales forecasts for select products.
  • Support new product launches, SKU optimization, and regulatory requirements.



Marketing & Product Content

  • Partner with the GVF Marketing team to execute product marketing initiatives across Farmers Depot channels.
  • Support product launches, catalogue updates, and promotional campaigns.
  • Maintain accurate product information, including descriptions, images, videos, and supporting documentation.



Vendor & Internal Coordination

  • Collaborate with vendors to support promotions, funding opportunities, and product initiatives.
  • Lead vendor meetings for select product lines to review performance, trends, and growth opportunities.
  • Communicate product updates and key information across internal teams.


Your background includes:

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in product management, marketing, sales support, procurement, or a related role.
  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing, procurement, agriculture, or a related field (preferred)
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Analytical mindset with a desire to develop strategic capabilities
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Agricultural, farming, or animal health background is an asset
